Waking up to that sweet smell of
bread really brightens up my day! Especially when it’s as early as 5am, most
people would have a hard time trying to straighten up from bed. But for me, the
scent of bread that’s fresh out of the oven makes my tummy growl.
So this little bakery here is
located along the highway of Northbay Boulevard and at the corner of Honorio
Lopez Boulevard right here in Balut, Tondo (which is practically two blocks
away from my home). But believe it or not, I’ve been waking up smelling that
fresh aroma every day! (Unless I sleep late because of projects)
Counter ladies were kind of surprised when I told them I would buy one of each bread for a school project =)) |
This bakery is named, “CD1 Bakery”. They sell quite a variety of breads. They all
look good for a local bakery, and even smell reaaally good, too. Since this is
a local bakery, you can expect its part Sari-Sari
store. So they sell sachets of shampoo, iced tea, soft drinks, instant food,
and etc. So here’s the list of the good stuff:
- Ensaymada
- Ensaymada Bulaklak
- Mamon
- Putok
- Choco Roll
- Choco Bread
- Ube Roll
- Banana Cake Slice
- Putok (topped with sugar)
- Pusit
- Ube Bread (flower-shaped)
- Plaka Bread
- Choco Turnover
- Ube Bread
- Plaka Bread (small)
- Cheese Roll
- Spanish Bread
- Cheese Bread
- Torta
- Kababayan
- Pan de Coco
- Pianono Roll Slice
- Monay (small)
- Monay (big)
Putting aside the fact that they
all had very identical taste, I’d say it’s actually kind of worth it. Their
Banana Cake Slice tasted really good, and their Pianono Roll Slice and Mamon were
soft and sweet. Oh and their Torta had a great crumbly texture.
Overall, they make good breads
which fit the taste of the masses! Every peso is worth it because, compared to
other bakeries, they were quite generous with the size of each bread.
